About Laura Fuller, Head of Communications, UNEP North America
Laura Fuller heads communications for the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) in North America, out of their regional office in Washington, D.C. She is responsible for conveying UNEP’s core scientific and environmental messaging as well as delivering global advocacy campaigns, to diverse stakeholders and media throughout Canada and the U.S. She leads the effort to raise awareness on priority and emerging environmental issues in order to influence attitudes, behavior and decisions related to the local, regional and global environment, and to enhance the profile of the organization throughout North America. Previous to this position, she was based in Paris, France as the communications lead for the public-private sector en.lighten initiative where she led global communications efforts to raise the profile of the program with countries and international partners around the goal of phasing out inefficient lighting worldwide.
Prior to joining UNEP, she was the Marketing Communications Manager for a leading international private-sector organization based in her hometown of Toronto, Ontario. There she ran strategic communication plans and promotional activities to increase brand awareness and to disseminate information and programs about the technological shift towards energy-efficient lighting products.
