Toronto East Rotary Club member Amanda Maragos will give her Classification Talk.

Amanda is the Director of Client Services & Volunteer Programs for Philip Aziz Centre for Hospice Care & Emily's House Children's Hospice in downtown Toronto. She is an experienced professional specializing in Hospice Palliative Care client/patient programming and supports, in addition to Volunteer Management (particularly in both the healthcare and social services sectors) for almost 15 years. Equipped with program development & communication skills and leadership abilities she currently manages and develops programming that supports clients (adults and children) in both a community-based hospice and a 10-bed residential paediatric hospice (that also employs a volunteer team of over 350 people). She also provides volunteer and staff education and consultation for various Toronto not-for-profit organizations; providing insight and best practices for programs that often support vulnerable people.  She is also a volunteer herself - contributing her time to serve her community as a board director, client support volunteer and standards advisor for 3 separate organizations. Advocacy for volunteerism and inclusive healthcare for all is a practice that is close to Amanda's heart and one of her passions! She loves to see compassion and connectivity lead to acts of kindness and personal growth for all stakeholders.

She loves comic books, sci-fi culture, art, music, tai chi, and food! Especially food.
