Don't Mess With The Don

Lawrence Warriner, president and co-founder of "Don't Mess with the Don" (DMWTD).

DMWTD is a volunteer-led, Canadian-registered charity dedicated to protecting and enhancing the natural heritage of Toronto's Don Valley and ravines. Since its inception in 2018, DMWTD has engaged over 8,000 volunteers, removed approximately 340,000 pounds of garbage, and planted more than 3,000 native plants and trees. The organization offers various programs, including clean-ups, nature stewardship, youth trail running, mountain biking, kayaking, and family environmental arts and educational activities. These initiatives provide opportunities to restore and connect with nature, foster community fellowship, and contribute to combating environmental degradation.

Lawrence will tell us about DMWTD's Earth Day project at the Redway Loblaws in Leaside on Saturday, April 26th. On that day, TERC and several of our neighbouring Clubs will be taking part in activities such as tree planting, valley clean-up, Buckthorn removal, and more.
